FAQs About Anxiety Therapy in Los Angeles, California
-
I treat pretty much all kinds! I work with people experiencing generalized anxiety and constant worry, social anxiety, panic attacks, agoraphobia, health anxiety, and specific fears such as flying, driving, elevators, needles, vomiting, or other situations that have started limiting your life.
-
I use a combination of Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
In plain language, we’ll work on gradually approaching the things anxiety tells you to avoid while changing the behaviors you use to make the anxiety go away. At the same time, we’ll work on helping you make choices based on what matters to you rather than what anxiety is telling you to do.
-
Simply being around something that makes you anxious isn’t always enough to make the anxiety better. What matters is how you respond when the anxiety shows up. You may be avoiding, checking, seeking reassurance, distracting yourself, or using other strategies without even realizing it. In therapy, we’ll work on identifying these patterns and practicing new ways of responding that help you build confidence in your ability to handle anxiety over time.
